1,115 buildings inspected in Lesvos declared uninhabitable

One thousand one hundred and fifteen buildings out of 1,986 inspected by crews of the Natural Disasters Restoration Directorate in Lesvos have been declared uninhabitable, according to data from the first round of inspections on the island, which followed a strong earthquake two weeks ago.

Of the 1,986 buildings inspected, 1,750 are houses and the rest are businesses, churches and warehouses. The inspections ran from June 13-24.

The crews started a second round of inspections in all the villages except Vrisa, which was the worst hit area, to establish which buildings will be demolished.
