New Democacy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis called on citizens to rally behind him to bring about the political change the country is in need of, during a party event in Agioi Anargiroi, Athens.
Mitsotakis, who will run on the ticket of the second electoral district of Athens, stated that “ND is a deeply popular party, close to the people who are most in need.”
He then invited the Greek citizens not to reelect Alexis Tsipras on account of the following three reasons: “He deceived the Greek people, inundated them with taxes and voted the Prespes Agreement, which gives a language and an identity to the neighbours”.
With regards to the date of the national elections, Mitsotakis estimated that these will take place on May 26.
Finally, he issued a call to ND’s allienated supporters and to voters who have never before voted for his party to do so now.
“2019 will be remembered as a year of great political change,” he concluded.
