A large anti-fascist march concluded on Wednesday in memory of rapper Pavlos Fyssas, murdered by a member of the far-right Golden Dawn (GD) party six years ago.
Protesters met at the Pavlos Fyssas Avenue (the former Panagi Tsaldari Ave.) and by his statue, and marched to the local GD offices with Fyssas’ family and friends in the lead.
Brief incidents were recorded at the end of the march before the Piraeus municipal theater, when unknown people threw rocks and flashbangs at the police, who responded with teargas. Some store fronts were damaged on Iroon Polytechniou Street as well.
Communist Party-affiliated PAME union members held a separate march at Nikis Square.
