Greece’s contribution in the organization of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Qatar in 2022, was agreed in a meeting of Deputy Citizen’s Protection Minister Eleftherios Oikonomou and Ambassador of Qatar to Greece Waleed Bin Mohammed Al-Emadi, at the ministry on Wednesday.
In response to a Qatari request, Oikonomou expressed the readiness of the Hellenic Police and security authorities to assist in the organization of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, due to their extensive experience in organizing important sporting events.
In addition, it was agreed to lay the foundations for signing soon a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries in the field of security.
