Mild tremor rattles Corinthia

An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale hit the regional unit of Corinthia, at 7.50 a.m. on Wednesday, the Athens Geodynamic Institute reported.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake’s epicenter was located 6 kilometers northwest of Perachora, at a depth of 12 kilometers.

Greece lies in one of the world’s most seismically active areas and earthquakes are common, although major damage and fatalities are rare.
