Within 42 months, Greece became stronger geopolitically, economically, and socially, shoring up its defense and passing from stagnation into developmenet, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Monday at the “European Youth Day event” in Athens.

The event was organized by the ruling New Democracy party’s youth division ONNED, and attended by European Parliament Deputy Lidia Pereira.

PM Mitsotakis called on ONNED members to convey the message to voters that his government kept its campaign promises and plans to continue doing so if it wins elections for a second round. “We cannot risk the threat of no government,” he said, referring to the two rounds of national elections and the need for an independent majority. An election date has not yet been announced.

In his speech to ONNED members, the PM referred to the government’s implemented policies on improving unemployment rates for youth (dropping by 17% in the last three years for the 17-29 age group) and the need for training in digital skills, among others.
