A 20-year-old man was injured when he and four friends were attacked by five individuals in the suburb of Maroussi, northern Athens on Wednesday night.
The incident took place shortly after 7 p.m. and the victim had to be transferred to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for a thigh injury caused by a sharp object.
The victim’s friends testified to the police about the attack which authorities link to soccer club rivalry.
