Two dead bodies found after migrant boat sinks near Mykonos

The bodies of a man and a woman were recovered from the sea northeast of the island of Mykonos on Friday, following the sinking of a migrant vessel that, according to the latest reports, was carrying 17 people.
Another two migrants who were rescued earlier on Friday and taken to the island’s port told the Coast Guard that there were 17 people in total on board the plastic-hull speedboat, including 4-5 women and a seven-year-old girl.
Two coast guard boats, a super puma helicopter and vehicles on land are taking part in the search-and-rescue operation. A team of divers and an offshore patrol vessel are expected to arrive and join the operation shortly.
