With over 85% of the ballots tallied, ruling conservative New Democracy (ND) received 27.78% of the votes, while main opposition party SYRIZA got 14.94% in the 2024 EU elections Sunday night, according to the official results.
Centrist PASOK received 12.92% of the ballots coming in third, while populist right wing party Greek Solution (Elliniki Lysi) bumped the Communist party of Greece (KKE) (9.32%) from 4th spot receiving 9.57% of the votes.
Notably, two other populist parties, Niki and recently formed Voice of Reason (Foni Logikis), the surprise of the evening, recorded gains with the former receiving 4.42%, and the latter, in its first bid garnering 3.06% support, although it is projected to settle below the 3% threshold once all ballots have been tabulated. Left party Pleusi Eleftherias received 3.43%.
Based on the percentages reeceived, the seat distribution of the parties in the EP Parliament is as follows:
ND – 7 seats
SYRIZA – 4 seats
PASOK – 3 seats
Greek Solution – 2 seats
KKE – 2 seats
Niki – 1 seat
Pleusi Eleftherias – 1 seat
