Elliniki Lysi deputy expelled from parliamentary group

Elliniki Lysi State Deputy Pavlos Sarakis was expelled from the party’s parliamentary group by request of party leader Kyriakos Velopoulos on Tuesday.

Velopoulos said in a letter to Parliament President Constantine Tassoulas that the decision was unanimous “except for Mr. Sarakis” and the action was decided because “Elliniki Lysi will not tolerate arrogance, ingratitude, impertinence, and demeaning behavior against colleagues.”

The decision will be formally announced at Parliament’s plenary on Wednesday.
