The very high temperatures (maximum values above 40 degrees Celsius) will continue in Greece until Sunday (21/7).
However, from the beginning of next week there will be a slight decrease in the temperature, both in its maximum and minimum values in most of the country and only locally, in the central and southern mainlands it will remain at high levels.
On Friday, the highest temperatures are expected to reach:
a. in the northern mainland areas, 38-39C, and in the rest of the mainland, 40-41C.
b. in the Ionian, Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese islands and in southern Crete, 37-40C.
c. in the rest of the islands, 35-37C.
d. in Attica and the prefecture of Thessaloniki, 38-39C.
On Saturday (20/7) from noon, sporadic storms are forecast in the north of the country and the temperature is expected to reach:
a. in the northern mainland, 37-39C, in the rest of the mainland, 40C and locally in the west 41C.
b. in the Ionian, Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese islands and in southern Crete, 38-40C.
c. in the rest of the islands, 34-36C.
d. in Attica, 39-40C, and in the prefecture of Thessaloniki, 38-39C.
