New rescue of migrants in the south of Crete

An operation was set up to rescue 59 migrants, who were located by a Frontex vessel in a sea area south of Kali Limenes.

A coast guard lifeboat participated in the operation, which collected them and transported them to Kali Limenes. As they stated to the authorities, they are Syrians, Egyptians and Sudanese, including four minors and three women who are expected to be transferred to the temporary accommodation area in Heraklion within the next few hours.
