Thessaloniki Metro logo unveiled ahead of Nov 30 inauguration

The logo for the Thessaloniki Metro, which is set to be inaugurated in the northern port city on November 30, was unveiled on Wednesday by Transport Minister Christos Staikouras.

Officials said that the logo draws inspiration from Byzantine script and serves as the foundation for a visual identity designed to bridge the past, present, and future of Thessaloniki. It was said to combine the city’s authenticity and timelessness with the modern and innovative character of its metro system.

The design of the Thessaloniki Metro logo was awarded through a direct commission valued at 30,000 euros, following the cancellation of two previous tenders.
