Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis on Monday participated in the pre-congress of the leaders of the Party of European Socialists in Brussels.
In his statements, he pointed out that “the European leaders have an obligation to stop daydreaming and take decisions that will make the citizens feel safe in every country of the Union. Clear decision with specific steps.
Androulakis added that the threats have multiplied for the EU given that, after Putin and Erdogan, now U.S. President Donald Trump was also threatening EU member-states.
Additionally, PASOK’s leader underlined that there must be a common EU foreign policy, as well as common armaments and a European army, along with rules concerning the export of arms to third countries from the European Union.
“It is unthinkable for powerful European countries to supply Turkiye while there is a casus belli that threatens Greece and, additionally, when the neighbouring country is constantly threatening Cyprus as well, with Erdogan saying that his priority is the division of the island,” concluded Androulakis.
