Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, thanked him for his efforts on the Cyprus issue and for the informal discussions he convened on 17 and 18 March in Geneva.
Αccording to government sources, Mitsotakis reiterated Greece’s position for a solution within the framework of UN Security Council resolutions and emphasized the importance of continuing discussions on the reunification of Cyprus.
On Syria, Mitsotakis expressed Greece’s concern over atrocities committed against Christians and other communities in Syria. He reiterated that any lifting of restrictive measures by Europe must be careful, gradual, reversible and ensure that the rights of all national and religious communities are protected.
