The first delivery of bio marine fuels in Greece by Motor Oil Group and its company Coral Marine is a milestone in efforts to reduce emissions and promote the green transition in the shipping industry.
The delivery, which took place on the cruise ship Celestyal Discovery at the Port of Lavrio in southeastern Attica represents the first foray into an oil-biofuel blend in the Greek market, whose use reduces CO2 emissions produced by the ship by approximately 21%.
The fuel blend consists of oil produced at Motor Oil’s refinery and biofuel also produced in Greece, at the group’s Verd plant, from used cooking oil collected from the Greek market.
