Greek GDP up 0.8 pct in the second quarter of 2017

The Greek economy grew in the second quarter of 2017, with the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rising 0.5 pct in volume terms compared with the first quarter of the year (seasonally adjusted), up 0.8 pct compared with the second quarter of 2016, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

The statistics service, in a report, said that Greece’s GDP grew 0.7 pct in volume terms in the second quarter of 2017 (based on non-seasonally adjusted figures) compared with the corresponding period last year.

The Greek GDP was revised upwards in the first quarter of 2017 based on updated figures released by the general governent.
