I do not believe that a review of an international Treaty would be constructive for the Balkans, noted Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov commenting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statements on the Lausanne Treaty
“On Erdogan’s statements for the Lausanne Treaty, I would like to say that a review of an international Treaty would not be constructive for the Balkans” he said during the joint press conference after the end of the 2nd quadrilateral summit between Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia that is held in Belgrade.
“What should we do? Should we discuss again history? To return to the past? Then we should disappear. We could not co-exist” said the Bulgarian prime minister.
Referring to the cooperation in the Balkans, he said that “we should show our wisdom and not those that divide us; we must overcome the problems of the past because that’s how our relations will become stronger with aim a better future for our people”.
