A total of 201 refugees and migrants arrived on Lesvos in last 24 hours

A total of 201 refugees and migrants arrived on the island of Lesvos in the last 24 hours, between Sunday and Monday morning, authorities announced.

The spike followed several days of bad weather and zero arrivals, which picked up as weather conditions started to improve. There have been no arrivals on the islands of Chios and Samos, conversely.

The number of arrivals to the northern Aegean islands in January has reached a total of 1268, of which 732 have landed on Lesvos, 119 on Chios and 417 on Samos.
