ADEDY calls strike in public sector on Thursday

The Civil Servants’ Confederation (ADEDY) has called a 24-hour national strike on Thursday, January 17 to demand the revocation of the new system of teacher appointments, contained in a bill currently in parliament.

In a statement on Tuesday, ADEDY said its decision was based on teachers’ unions decisions and on the high turnout of teachers in the January 11 and 14 strikes and rallies.

It also called on all civil servants to join a rally scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in front of the Parliament.
