ADMIE approves voluntary early retirement scheme to renew staff

The board of the Greek electricity grid operator ADMIE (Independent Power Transmission Operator) on Wednesday approved a voluntary early retirement package to be offered to employees that already qualify for a pension, which comes with a 35,000-euro lump sum as compensation.

The company’s decision was prompted by the need to renew its workforce, where the average age is currently 52 years old and is set to exceed 55 in 2022. The offer is, however, entirely voluntary.

The board also approved changes to the company’s organisational structure, to go into effect from March 1, with the creation of new departments and the consolidation of others and the scrapping of some management positions (without salary cuts for the individuals involved).
