Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos paid a two-days visit to Berlin following an invitation by SPD parliamentary group.
Katrougalos had meetings with German federal deputies and delivered a speech to the think tank of the DGAP “Europe’s future :Challenges and perspectives”
Later he attended a working luncheon with the president of the German parliament’s budget committee G. Lotzsch.
Katrougalos was also invited as key speaker to an event organised by the SPD parliamentary group on the issue “Our Europe: Powerful, Social, Just” in which participated the Labour Ministers of Germany, Austria and Sweden. In his intervention, Katrougalos set issues referring to the collective negotiations and the need for their restoration and underlined the need for a wider social alliance of the progressive forces.
On Friday, Katrougalos met with the vice president of Die Linke Axel Troost and the party’s MPs. Later he addressed the European Affairs Committee of the German parliament and afterwards he participated in a debate where they exchanged views of European and Greek interest.
