The strategic priority to promote the island of Kos in 2017 dominated the meeting of Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura with representatives of the local administration of northern Aegean and the Chamber of Dodecanese.
Kountoura said that the promotion of Kos is a strategic priority. She briefed the officials on the actions implemented by the ministry and the Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT) in cooperation with representatives of the public and private sector in order to boost tourism on the island. As she said, Kos has already restored its position as an attractive destination and tourist arrivals have increased.
The minister underlined that targeted actions will continue in 2017 in cooperation with the regional authorities, local administration and the private sector.
Kos is included for a second year in the central marketing planning of the ministry and EOT in the European markets and Russia. In addition, planning for the 2017 first includes the promotion of thematic products, such as conference tourism, sea tourism, sports coaching tourism and gastronomy.
