Alumil reports improved 2016 results

Alumil SA announced a 5.7 pct increase in consolidated sales to 202.1 million euros in 2016, from 191.2 million 2015. The group said gross earings jumped 26.7 pct to 47.1 million euros in 2016, from 37.2 million in the previous year, while EBITDA soared 75.4 pct to 15 million euros.

Pre-tax results showed a profit of 100,000 euros in 2016 from a loss of 7.8 million in 2015, while after tax results showed a profit of 100,000 euros from a loss of 8.1 million in the previous year.
Parent sales grew 9.0 pct to 121.7 million euros, gross profit rose 37.7 pct to 15.3 million euros and pre-tax losses fell to 5.5 million form 12.9 million euros in 2015.

Alumil attributed this positive developments to an increase in the volume of sales by 14 pct (consolidated) and 25 pct (parent) last year compared with 2015, despite the fact that turnover (in value) was negatively affected by a decline in aluminum prices in the first nine-months of 2016.

The board plans to skip dividend payment for the year.
