Antetokounmpo’s selection to play in NBA All Star Game is a huge honour for Greece, says sports ministry

The selection of Giannis Antetokounmpo to play in the NBA’s All Star Game is a huge reward for the player and his efforts and a huge honour for Greece, the sports ministry said on Friday in a press release.

The 22-year-old Milwaukee Bucks forward was named a starter for the Eastern Conference in the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, which will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Feb. 19.

“It is a great honour for Greek sports and fills the Greek people with joy and pride the selection of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the main team of the NBA All Star Game. Much more so because he not only is the first Greek basketball player to achieves this, but he is also the youngest non-American player in history,” it added.
