Bank of Greece: Greek state budget cash surplus 843 mln euros in Jan-Feb

The Greek state budget recorded a cash surplus of 843 million euros in the January-February period this year, from a surplus of 1.592 billion in the corresponding period in 2017, the Bank of Greece said on Monday.

The central bank, in a report, said regular budget spending (including spending of around 30 million euros for the repayment of state arrears to the private sector) totaled 7.265 billion euros in the two-month period, down from 7.701 billion in the same period in 2017.

The budget’s primary surplus – central administration – fell to 2.0 billion euros in the January-February period, from 3.2 billion euros in 2017.
