The parliament’s approval of a bill on Tuesday allowing individuals to change their legal gender is a turning point for Greek society, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Tuesday, following the vote.
“Today’s parliament decision guaranteeing the right of self-determination of gender identity constitutes a watershed moment for Greek society,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
“Today, progress, respect for diversity and human freedom, defeated obscurantism, hatred and hypocrisy,” he added.
