Body found in Lake Volvi believed to belong to one of two missing men

The body of a man believed to belong to the elder of two fishermen missing since Sunday afternoon was found on Monday at Lake Volvi, east of Thessaloniki.

According to the Fire Brigade, the two amateur fishermen, a 70-year-old man and his nephew, 40, went to collect their nets at the eastern side of the lake. The winds were very strong when they left, and their boat was later found overturned.

The corpse was found in the lake near the coastal town of Nea Apollonia. The search for the younger man is continuing with the assistance of special divers and volunteers.
