Bridge in Konitsa, northwestern Greece, collapse due to heavy rainfall

A bridge in Konitsa, northwestern Greece, collapsed due to heavy rainfall that hit the area in the last two days.

The bridge was the village’s only link with the rural road.

The mayor of Konitsa Andreas Papaspyrou that is currently in the area said to the Athens Macedonian News Agency that the high volume of waters in Santaporos river damaged one pillar of the bridge resulting in its collapse.
