Hellenic Statistical Authority: Car registrations up 30.1 pct in September

Car registrations grew 30.1 pct in September totaling 11,767 vehicles (new or used), from 9,044 in the same month last year, with new car registrations up 29.6 pct to total 6,500, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.

The statistics service, in a monthly report, said that car registrations in the January-September period totaled 121,904 (new or used) from 101,296 in the same period last year, an increase of 20.3 pct. New car registrations totaled 75,308 in the nine-month period, up 11.1 pct.

Motorcycle registrations totaled 2,655 in September (new or used), from 3,510 in September 2016, a decline of 24.4 pct, with new motorcycle registrations falling 26.1 pct to 2,426.

In the January-September period, motorcycle registrations totaled 25,122, down 22.2 pct from the same period last year, with new motorcycle registrations falling 24.3 pct to 22,827.
