Changes in the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure

The plenary of the Hellenic Parliament will decide critical changes regarding the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure on Tuesday.

The proposed amendments provide for the election of the President of the Parliament by roll-call vote, instead of the current secret procedure, but also the possibility of electing vice-presidents from the sixth and seventh in terms of strength parliamentary group.

The proposal of the President of the Parliament, as it will be set to the plenary vote, introduces for the first time a procedure for the correction of the vote, as well as the possibility to object to the constitutionality of an amendment.
