Charitsis accuses the government of attempting to lower expectations

SYRIZA spokesperson Alexis Charitsis on Friday accused the government of attempting to lower expectations, especially in the area of the economy and primary surplus targets.

According to a SYRIZA announcement, Charitsis said that Mitsotakis’ strategy for tax relief and growth, for at least two years, “was based on reducing surpluses. And now he seems to be reversing and putting it off until the calends.”

“A few days ago the government spokesperson talked about starting a debate on surpluses in 2021, while we know that the country’s commitment to meet 3.5 pct primary surplus targets comes to an end in 2022 anyway,” he added.
