Cities in Attica region collecting supplies for Beirut explosion victims

The Athens suburbs, the region and the Medical Association of Athens inaugurated a drive to collect medical and health supplies for the city of Beirut, which was partially destroyed by an explosion last week.

Municipalities will be collecting supplies from 10:00 to 13:00 on Thursday at specific locations announced (central squares, malls, and city halls), while the Lebanese embassy has been notified of the drive.

An appeal has been issued for specific supplies, some of which include medical dressings (bandages, adhesive tapes, gauze bandage and gauze pads), blood pressure instruments, burn gels (like flagyl/flogocalm) or sprays, disposable gloves, disposable masks, batteries, dextrose drip bottles, and eyedrops among others.

The municipalities of Agia Varvara and of Dionyssos have week-long collections for the above and for food, including baby food and evaporated milk.
