The Ministry of Citizen Protection is aiming to transfer 1,500 asylum seekers from Lesvos on two chartered catamaran vessels. Already, the Moria Reception and Identification Center (MDC) workers are gathering asylum seekers who will be moved according to lists compiled in Athens. The transfer will take place in two parts. The first 650 people will be transferred early Monday morning and the rest at noon.
Meanwhile, another 300 refugees and migrants reached the coast of Lesvos at the weekend, increasing the number of those living in Moria to about 11,000. Specifically, 88 people arrived on Saturday and flows are particularly high on Sunday.
