Civil Aviation Authority: Passenger traffic in Greek airports grew 8.8 pct in the January-September 2016

Passenger traffic in Greek airports grew 8.8 pct in the January-September period this year, compared with the same period in 2015, Civil Aviation Authority said in a report released on Thursday.

The report said that passenger traffic totaled 44.6 passengers in the nine-month period, from 41 million last year.
The number of flights totaled 380,169, of which 150,897 domestic and 229,272 international), an increase of 3.7 pct compared with 2015 (+2.2 pct domestic and +4.7 pct international).

Passenger traffic grew 12.2 pct in September to 7,234,654 compared with the same month last year. The airpots of Athens, Heraklion, Rhodes, Thessaloniki and Corfu recorded the biggest passenger traffic in September.
