Collaboration with the Left can be revived, Deputy PM Dragasakis tells MFC congress

SYRIZA “never sought to become a large party that will dominate and cover” the whole political arena, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy and Development Minister Yannis Dragasakis said on Friday, speaking as a guest at the founding congress of the Movement for Change.

He said that the party always sought to become a constellation of different political entities, and recalled past collaboration of the Left with PASOK, whose leader Fofi Gennimata is interim chair of the Movement for Change. “Such a coalition of political and social forces can assume the great task of reconstructing Greece,” he said, “and this constitutes a sincere response of strategic nature.”

Movement for Change was founded by Democratic Coalition Deputy Fofi Gennimata, Eurodeputy Nikos Androulakis, Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis, Democratic Left/ DIMAR party leader Thanasis Theocharopoulos, Democratic Socialists Movement leader George Papandreou, and Athens Mayor George Kaminis.
