The right conditions for a political agreement at the Eurogroup on Monday exist, government sources said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Friday.
The same sources said that “the Greek side and the involving parties are working hard towards that direction,” but “the IMF must review its estimates in relation to the real figures and the outperformance of the Greek economy as it is also confirmed by the European Commission.”
“The main issue is an in principle agreement on the fiscal policy after the end of the programme. If this is achieved – as EU officials also confirm – the programme review can be concluded at a technical level,” according to the government sources.
Moreover, they noted that it has been made clear that any delays are not in the benefit of Greece or Europe.
Asked on the main opposition New Democracy’s stance, they said that its leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis is faced with a new strategic impasse.
