Conference on Greece’s return to capital markets

Economist, in cooperation with the Greek-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are organizing a conference in Frankfurt, May 31, on “A Glimpse into Europe’s Financial Landscape – Greece: A Comeback to the Financial Markets?”.

The conference will be held after Greek authorities and its creditors reached a framework-agreement to conclude a second review of the Greek adjustment program, the Greek Parliament passed an omnibus bill to implement a package of reform measures and will be held after a crucial Eurogroup meeting in May 22 in Brussels.

In an announcement, the organizers said “2017 was a crucial year for creating conditions that will lead to the country’s return to capital markets by the end of the program in 2018”.

Benoit Coeuré, a member of the executive board of the European Central Bank, Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Economy and Development Alternate Minister Alexis Charitsis, Bank of Greece governor Yiannis Stournaras, will address the conference, along with other European officials and investment firm executives
