Cyprus issue dominates discussion between PM Tsipras and Potami party leader

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and opposition Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis expressed their support for Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and his efforts for a solution to the Cyprus problem, following their meeting at the Maximos Mansion on Monday.

Tsipras noted that Greece and Cyprus must capitalise on their European position, urging patience and persistence in order to find a solution.

Theodorakis said it was necessary to isolate the nationalists, while noting that there were some in Greece also that did not want a solution to the Cyprus issue.

The prime minister on Monday began a round of meetings with political party leaders to brief them on the decisions made at the last Eurogroup meeting and on developments concerning the Cyprus issue.
