D. Koutsoumbas: Best way to honour Polytechnic uprising is to reject governments that signed bailouts

The best way to commemorate the 1973 Athens Polytechnic uprising is to continue the fight against the governments that signed bailout programs with Greece’s creditors, including the current one, Communist Party leader Dimitris Koutsoumbas said on Thursday during the annual march through Athens that ends outside the American embassy.

“The best honour for the Polytechnic is to continue the struggles against all governments that have voted for memorandums, that have voted and continue to vote anti-labour measures, such as the current government of SYRIZA and ANEL, who are the real forgers of history and of the Polytechnic struggles, and of course all the previous governments of New Democracy and PASOK,” Koutsoumbas said.
