Debate opens at committee level for draft of 2021 state budget draft

The debate on the draft state budget for 2021 began at committee level in the Greek parliament on Wednesday.

Despite the “uncertainties” it contains due to the coronavirus pandemic, Alternate Finance Minister Theodoros Skylakakis said, there is “certainly a culture of payments” by the Greek taxpayers, who “continue to meet their obligations to the degree possible.” This, he said, “is extremely important, because it retains the health of the budget’s structure for the day after the pandemic.”
