Defence Minister Kammenos in Beirut for signing of bilateral cooperation agreement

National Defence Minister Panos Kammenos met with his Lebanese counterpart Yaacoub Riad El Sarraf on Monday in Beirut, where the two sides signed an agreement that includes training of Lebanese soldiers at Greek military academies.

Kammenos said that the Greek government was also promoting a trilateral collaboration with Cyprus as part of regional cooperation plans that included improving stability and prosperity in the East Mediterranean and the Middle East.

The Greek minister also met with Lebanese President, general Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Parliament Parliament Nabih Mostapha Berri. He then paid a visit at Beirut to Greek frigate “Limnos” which is participating in the UNIFIL operation in the area.
