The Democratic Coalition accused Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday of attempting to undermine institutions and spread propaganda after his statements for a constitutional revision before a relevant committee in parliament.
“Without scientific knowledge, without institutional legitimacy, without a trace of political responsibility, the government doesn’t hesitate to play – once again – with the Constitution, the political system, state institutions, our very foundations of our Democracy. People know them well by now, citizens don’t buy their fairytale,” the party said and linked Tsipras’ speech with the difficulties the government is facing in its negotiations with the country’s lenders.
“The Constitution must be revised as it foresees. Not as the propaganda mechanism of Maximos Mansion is desiring and planning,” the party added.
