Dep. FinMin Papanatsiou: Ninety percent of the issues included in the 2nd review have closed

Ninety percent of the issues included in the second program review have closed, Deputy Finance Minister Katerina Papanatsiou said on Tuesday during a debate in parliament about the 2017 draft budget.

The minister said the government aims to achieve a technical agreement by the end of the week and a political agreement at the Eurogroup on Dec. 5.

“Until now, 90 percent of the issues in the second [program] review have closed,” she told parliament, adding that the government is focusing on boosting fiscal responsibility as well as keeping its promises.

“We won’t take a step back in what we have promised,” she said, noting that the government also aims to tackle tax evasion, smuggling and corruption.
