Diplomatic source: PM Tsipras likely to visit Nicosia to discuss new meeting on Cyprus

It is likely that Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will visit Nicosia in March for talks with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and the country’s political leadership, ahead of a new international meeting on the Cyprus problem, the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported on Thursday. The agency cited a diplomatic source, without clarifying whether this source was Cypriot or Greek.

According to the same source, there were a number of issues to discuss in addition to the new meeting on Cyprus, such as the Turkish side’s demand that Turkish citizens be given the four fundamental freedoms after a solution of the Cyprus problem, relations between Greece and Turkey and EU-Turkey customs union.

CNA did not, however, rule out the possibility that Anastasiades will visit Athens for talks with Tsipras.
