Premium production by insurance companies grew 1.2 pct in the January-November period totaling 3.452 billion euros, the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (EAEE) said in a report released on Monday.
More specifically, premium production in the life insurance sector totaled 1.715 billion euros, down 0.1 pct compared with the same period in 2016, while unit link life insurance production rose 18.7 pct and the life insurance sector recorded a 3.8 pct decline in premium production. The damage sector recorded a 2.5 pct increase in production to around 1.737 billion euros.
In November, premium production in the life insurance sector fell 10.2 pct compared with the same month in 2016 and damage insurance grew 5.6 pct, rising for the seventh successive month. Premium production fell 3.0 pct in November compared with November 2016.
