ECB’s supervisory chair Nouy in Athens for follow-up with bank managers

Chair of the European Central Bank’s Supervisory Board Daniele Nouy is holding meetings in Athens with bank managers including the Bank of Greece, as part of a follow-up to the recent successful stress tests.

According to sources, Nouy hailed bank management for the way they are dealing with nonperforming loans (NPLs), and for meeting 2017 targets, which will allow banks to focus on their primary purpose of funding the real economy, especially businesses and households.
