ELSTAT: Greek households’ available income up 4.1 pct in Q3

Greek households’ available income grew by 1.3 billion euros or 4.1 pct to 30.9 billion euros in the third quarter of 2018, compared with the same period in 2017, while final consumption spending of Greek households rose by 600 million euros or 1.8 pct to 32.2 billion in the same period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said in a report released on Thursday.

The statistics service said that households’ saving rate (gross savings/gross available income) was -4.2 pct from -6.5 pct in the third quarter of 2017.

More specifically, gross fixed-capital investments in the non-financial sector totaled 2.8 billion euros, the general government sector recorded a net borrowing of 2.4 billion euros, the external balance of goods and services recorded a surplus of 5.1 billion euros in the third quarter of 2018 from a surplus of 6.3 billion in 2017.
