The Greek import price index in the industrial sector rose 3.1 pct in March compared with the same month last year, after a 5.3 pct increase recorded in the same period in 2018/2017, Hellenic Statistical Authority said in a report released on Tuesday.
The statistics service attributed this development in the so-called “imported inflation” to a 0.9 pct increase in the import price index from Eurozone countries and a 4.9 pct rise in the import price index from countries outside Eurozone (mainly because of a rise in international oil prices).
The index rose 1.1 pct in March from February 2019, after an 1.0 pct increase recorded in the same period last year.
