ELSTAT: Greek trade deficit shrank 18 pct in November

Greek trade deficit shrank 18 pct in November as a decline in the value of imports was twice as much the decline in the value of exports. More specifically, Hellenic Statistical Authority, in a monthly report, said that the value of import-arrivals totaled 3.991 billion euros in November, down 9.4 pct from November 2019 (excluding oil products imports fell 2.1 pct while excluding oil products and ships imports eased 1.8 pct). The value of export-deliveries totaled 2.625 billion euros in November, down 4.2 pct from the same month in 2019 (excluding oil products exports rose 3.8 pct while excluding oil products and ships exports rose 4.7 pct).

The trade deficit was 1.366 billion euros in November, down 18 pct from November 2019 (excluding oil products the deficit shrank 10.7 pct while excluding oil products and ships the deficit eased 11.3 pct).

in the 11-month period, from January to November, the value of imports totaled 44.141 billion euros, down 14 pct from the corresponding period in 2019 (excluding oil products imports fell 5.5 pct while excluding oil products and ships imports were 4.9 pct down). The value of exports totaled 27.714 billion euros, down 10.5 pct (excluding oil products rose 2.2 pct while excluding oil products and ships exports rose 2.3 pct). The trade deficit totaled 16.427 billion euros in the 11-month period, down 19.3 pct from the same period in 2019 (excluding oil products the deficit fell 15.4 pct while excluding oil products and ships the deficit fell 14.3 pct).
